Folk who take their music seriously would end up rocking and shaking in a corner listening to Nirvana on loop were it not for the Zodiac to keep them entertained. A relatively large establishment which houses at least two areas for clubbing, Zodiac pull in live acts by the bucketload, often showcasing some of the UK's best guitar fiddlers. The nights vary from the metal/punk/rockfest Sabotage on a Thursday to the popular Wednesday night's Trashy glam disco. Décor–wise, walls are painted dark and the ceiling is decorated in part with draped material and though there is no dress code, most people try to blend in with the darkness. Catering for all tastes – except Westlife fans and Daniel O'Donnel obsessives –, the drinks aren't criminally priced and the Zodiac is considered by many – and lil' old itchy – to be the best club in Oxford. Go there if you know what's good for you.
