Kings Arms

The King's Arms is so Oxford, it's practically part of the university –you simply must go. At exam time, the gowned masses descend upon it in their thousands, but then it's always packed at every other time, so you're always going to be in for a lengthy wait at the bar. After a short–lived Nazi—esque ban on drinking in the streets of Oxford –which included, most unreasonably, at the tables outside the King's Arms, the benches are back and you can once more admire the Sheldonian as you drink, and watch the comings and goings of busy people who think they have better things to do than while away a pleasant hour down the pub.
