The Trout
What better way to spend a sunny afternoon in Oxford than to go for a lovely 5 mile country walk along the Thames to this gorgeous pub, hidden on the outskirts of the city. Or alternatively you could opt for the 15 minute drive. The Trout (which goes under the heading of gastropub, but this doesn't really do it justice) is an idyllic way to spend a sunny afternoon by the river, basking in the company of the roaming peacocks. The food is fantastic and there's an irresistible selection of sharers that tempted us between meals. It's quite pricey, but worth it when you need to celebrate something special such as the sun actually shining in England.
