Magdalen College

Not pronounced Magdalen but 'Maudlin', which shows that although the academic chaps of yore were freakishly clever, they were crap at spelling. The grounds of Magdalen have quite rightly been described as the most romantic place in Oxford. It's beautiful on a summer day, and the college even has its own deer park. On May Day morning, revellers gather at dawn to hear choirboys singing from the tower.
