The Big Bang
The Big Bang oozes bohemian charm and a laid-back attitude to simple, local food. As a stereotypical student the concept of a restaurant with a sole dish of 'bangers n' mash' is more than enticing. There is no need for fancy protein when you can stuff yourself on sausage. The maître d had as much enthusiasm as Bruno Tonioli and the meal certainly lived up to it. A far cry better than our usual Tesco Value, the Venison sausages with creamy mash and red wine jus were wonderful, and the pudding list is also well worth investigating, particularly the crumble of the day. If you're on a diet, stay clear – or just throw caution to the wind and go for the 'Big Bang' (every sausage on the menu - a challenge we could never resist). A main and pudding will set you back about £15 but are well worth it, and it's great to know that everything is sourced from as close to the kitchen as possible.
