The Nosebag
Aside from the implicit suggestion that its clientele are scoffing
donkeys, faces covered by suffocating feedbags, The Nosebag is a calm,
polite sort of a place. It hides up a flight of stairs serving good hot
food at mid-range prices (eight-fifty-ish for lasagne, that sort of
thing), but where it really comes into its own is as a cakey, salad,
scones, quichey, soup and tea emporium. Itchy suggests it for quiet
book-reading and mother-entertaining. It's also open until
half-nine/ten, so it's a good alternative if you want to go out of an
evening without getting covered in beer and shame.
