The Springvale

Also known as the aptly named Beer Engine, this pub is popular with all types and ages. It is said that the Yorkshire Ripper was drinking here on the night of his arrest, so who knows who might decide to visit on the night you pop in? Always nice for a night out to have the same frisson as watching The Silence of the Lambs. Mmm, nothing says cosy like an infamous killer. Giant screens and pool tables are at hand to amuse/distract yourself from the terror, and promotional offers include buy one get one free on selected drinks on Wednesdays. Don't get too lashed though - you never know who you might bump into.
