The White Lion

Back in the old days, crowds of up–for–it revellers would meet here, looking gormlessly at one another without speaking, as the speakers thundered out the latest chart classics, warming up the crowd for the tack–fest of the Dome II. Now the Dome has shut – too much violence apparently –, this pub is a complete waste of space. DJs at the weekend try to create a club atmosphere in what is still a pub, no matter how many flashing lights and MTV screens they stick in it. The only relief is in summer, when the patio garden is open for some top drawer sun–drenched drinking.
