West Yorkshire Playhouse

The West Yorkshire Playhouse will be the jewel in the crown of the planned 'Cultural Quarter' of Leeds. Built in 1990, it's already well-known for its variety of productions. With artistic director Ian Brown at the helm, the theatre has gone from strength to – hang on a minute: Ian Brown? That's not the Ian Brown, is it? The former lead singer of the Stone Roses and beloved darling of the festival circuit? If that's the case, even Itchy will shake off our inbuilt mistrust of anything 'high-culture' and nosey on down for a good old sing-song. Itchy always liked that 'I am the resurrection' number.
