If exotic coloured cocktails and a lively, noisy atmosphere in Oxford are what you're after, Maxwell's should do the trick. It's generally pretty packed on a Friday night, and you might have to fight your way through the cloud of Lynx and Wonderbra–clad ladies at the bar, but that's all part of the Maxwell's experience. The American style food is pretty good and generously portioned, although you might find it a little difficult to read the menu as the 'mood lighting' here seems to mean 'near total darkness'.
