One would assume that the purple cave–like interior of the Purple Turtle lures in dark and mysterious characters, but in reality it attracts many a variety of partygoer, particularly those who keep a keen lookout for decent drinks prices. It's particularly studenty, because those lucky enough to hold an Oxford Union card don't have to pay – and how they rejoice –. The small dancefloor is usually crowded with sweat stricken bodies, and so anyone prone to claustrophobia should probably avoid the Purple Turtle, especially on Friday nights when you'll struggle to do the funky chicken with your fingers, let alone your arms.
