Angel & Greyhound
Marketing types sometimes talk about products in terms of their USP or Unique Selling Point. In Oxford pub terms The Trout's USP is its stunning garden, The Turf's is the beer and The Eagle & Child's is that Tolkein was a punter. Meanwhile, in a corner of St. Clement's, The Angel & Greyhound proudly proclaims itself 'Britain's best board game pub', which unfairly tars it with a pretty geeky brush, a shame because The Hound is one of Oxford's few genuinely friendly, unpretentious pubs. Nevertheless, there isn't enough here to make a night of it, unless you love board games, in which case you probably aren't old enough to be drinking anyway.
