"Look," you naively remark as you enter The Duke, "It must be a pub –there's pool, there's football, there are even glorious foaming pints of luminous real ale." But you would be wrong, because The Duke is no normal pub –there's stylish lighting, hardwood stools, an occasional DJ and a throng of trendy, beautiful people. This is a cocktail bar masquerading as a pub. Or maybe a pub making at being a bar, who knows what look it was trying to go for. Still, an excellent base-camp for venturing into the Cowley night.
